Ohrid Sightseeing & West Macedonia Road Trip

Pack your bags and get ready for our most popular trip – Erasmus Impulse’s epic West Macedonia Road trip! 🙌🥳🚐

It’s going to be a 3-day/2-night all-encompassing trip around the middle and the western part of our country, visiting some of the most beautiful sights and most important places our country has to show.

01.11.2024 – Departures are Friday morning with pick-ups along the way from the scheduled locations. Arrivals back to Skopje/Shtip are late night on Sunday 03.11.

DAY 1 we visit Mavrovo National Park, Bigorski monastery, Debar (and our super secret crystal cave) and Struga where we’ll have dinner at our favourite place on the Ohrid Lake. We will arrive in Ohrid in the evening, check-in and have some free time for dinner, walking around and or preparing for a night out.

DAY 2 is reserved for sightseeing in Ohrid. We’ll check out all the important historical and cultural places as well as some hidden gems. This day you will learn a bit more about our history and the legends, stories and treasures of this region, and we’ll visit some hidden gems of this town. After the planned visits, we’ll have some free time to explore the old town’s narrow alleys, do some souvenir shopping on the main street and enjoy a walk along the waterfront. Optional boat rides and other activities.

DAY 3 in the morning we’ll head to St. Naum Monastery complex and Black Drim Springs. Along the way, we will stop by the Bay of Bones. If someone wants to do paragliding, diving, SUP boards, boat rides or ATV rides, we’ll accompany them on their sports adventures and then head towards Bitola. There we will visit the Ataturk museum and try some local specialties for lunch. After Bitola we will visit Prilep where we’ll do some sightseeing and have a coffee under the leaning tower of Prilep (yes that’s right, not only Pisa has a leaning tower 😀 ). If the time allows, we’ll make one more stop at the city Veles and arrive back to Shtip/Skopje/Tetovo in the evening.

* Wear comfortable or hiking shoes and dress in layers. Bring an umbrella just in case and a swimsuit, slippers and a towel if you would like to swim. (If the group agrees and the conditions allow, we can stop at a natural hot springs center where we can swim in the hot pools)
