Sports day – Matka Canyon Kayaking and Adventure Park

“Sports Day 1” is here and we are starting off this semester with adrenaline-filled activities that will get your blood pumping and your dopamine levels rising! Let’s use the last remaining sunny days of the year to the max!

We’ll be heading to Matka Canyon where we will have 4 choices of activities.

• Our primary goal is to go kayaking in Matka’s eerie green but beautiful waters. Picturesque views are everywhere to be captured, even if not on the water.
• Rock Climbing Matka offers a thrilling experience and memorable views from above while hanging on your safety harness!
• Wanna try something new we bet you haven’t done before? How about riding a bicycle on the water? Enjoy Matka the way you’re supposed to – from the water but without getting wet.
• For the less adventurous ones, there is an easy hiking trail along Matka’s steep rocky walls that you can take for free and enjoy nature, the lake and the nice weather.
• For the least athletic members of the group, we offer a peaceful boat ride to the Vrelo Cave where you can enjoy views of many stalactites including a large one in the middle of the cave known as the “Pine Cone” due to its shape. There are two lakes at the end of the cave. The smaller lake is 8 meters long and 15 metres deep. The larger lake is 35 metres long and 18 metres deep. Though the exact depth of the cave is unknown, some speculate that it could be the deepest underwater cave in the world.

Or you can sip on a coffee or a drink at the amazing Hotel Canyon Matka bar and just enjoy the views and soak up the last sunshine rays of the year.

Following the team’s wishes, we can finish off our Matka visit with lunch at our favourite restaurant Monastery Cave, in a unique ambience (actual cave).

So grab some drinks and snacks and let’s enjoy Matka Canyon together!

The last day to sign up for our Sports Day at Matka Canyon is 17.10.2024.

Participation cost: 600MKD (Transport for students from Shtip can be organized for an additional charge – depending on the number of students)
